The CASA-1000
Project is the development of a 500 kV cross-border high voltage power transmission line. This project will create energy links between Kyrgyzstan,Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
The main components of the CASA-1000 project include the construction of high voltage lines from the “Sogd 500” substation to the Kyrgyz border, a500 kV energy links from the Regar substation to Sangtuda, and from Sangtuda to the Afghan border. Additionally, an electrode line has been built at Sangtuda and a 220 кV direct current (DC) power transmission line has been installed between the converter station and the existing station. In the final phase of the project, a 1,300 megawatt (MW) converter station has been constructed. This station is a crucial component in ensuring stable and reliable operation of the overall system.
The CASA1000 Project is an example of successful international collaboration and technical excellence. It demonstrates the potential of modern energy in addressing complex challenges related to ensuring energy supply and economic growth in regions. This event marks the start of a new phase in the utilization and distribution of electricity in Central Asia. It provides a platform for further cooperation and advancement in the field of energy.
Thanks tothe successful conclusion of the CASA 1000 initiative, the participating nations will now have the opportunity to not only optimize the use of their domestic energy resources, but also contribute to enhancing energy security and promoting economic development on an international scale. JSC "TGEM" is proud to have played a part in the realization of this significant undertaking and will continue working towards the development and improvement of energy infrastructures in the region and beyond.
