250 MW Asht Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

250 MW Asht Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

The power plant will be located on an area of 793 hectares. The project is aimed at increasing local electricity generation in the northern part of the country, improving the reliability of the region’s power supply, and reducing the load on interregional transmission lines.

As part of the project, the necessary energy infrastructure will be developed to connect the new generation capacity to the country’s unified power system. This will include the construction of a 9.8 km double-circuit 220 kV overhead transmission line, which will connect the solar power plant to the Asht 220/110/6 kV substation. A total of 36 transmission towers will be installed along the route.

The project contractors are TGEM, working in consortium with a Chinese company.

Once commissioned, the power plant will significantly increase electricity generation in the Sughd Region and improve the reliability and resilience of the regional power supply. The new generation capacity will also help reduce electricity losses associated with long-distance power transmission.

The project will have significant economic and social importance. Its implementation will contribute to the development of modern energy infrastructure, the introduction of new technologies, the professional development of specialists, and the creation of additional jobs.

Following completion of construction and commissioning of the facility, 40 permanent jobs are planned to be created for local specialists.

The implementation of the Asht Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant will mark an important stage in the development of solar energy in Tajikistan and the further expansion of renewable energy use across the country.
