The head of state, Honored Emomali Rahmon, also got acquainted with the quality of work in the CT-4 construction tunnel.
The construction tunnel CT-4 has a length of 1798 meters, its culvert capacity is 3500 cubic meters per second.
The spillway construction tunnel СT-4 is intended to discharge water during the period of high water during the construction of the station from the level of 1090 meters to the level of 1210 meters.
The two upper spillway tunnels, being built at the level of 1190 meters, will be connected with the CT-4 branches, the culvert capacity of each will be 1750 cubic meters per second.
The last part of the tunnel consists of two branches and will also in use duringthe substation operation.
It was informed that the entrance to the tunnel is at the level of 1190 meters andis fully completed. Its diameter is 15 meters.
Next the Leader of the Nation, Honored Emomali Rahmon inspected the dam.
The Rogun dam is constructed to a height of 1065 meters a.s.l, and 6 million cubic meters of building material layer upon layer were laid down.
At present the water level in the reservoir has been raised up to 1058 meters, which will ensure the operation of the next two units of the substation.
Until today approximately 200 million cubic meters of water were accumulated in the Rogun reservoir.
During the work inspection, the Head of State, Honored Emomali Rahmon, passed through the T-9 transport tunnel.
TheT-9 transport tunnel is a facility connecting the lower reaches of the station with its ridge and platforms of vertical tunnels for controlling the turbine water supply tunnels shutters.
The transport tunnel T-9 will also operate during the period of station use. It will stretch to the turbine water supply sites, and later all turbine water supply shutters will be handled from this place.
The other part of the tunnel passes through the dam ridge and will provide communication to the Shurab station. The length of the transport tunnel T-9 is 530 meters.
The tunnel is located at point of 1300 meters a.s.l.
The President of the country also got acquainted with the works done in the air supply tunnel.
The length of the air supply tunnel to the vertical air supply tunnel beam is 487.5 meters, the width is 8 meters and the height is 8.4 meters. In the future, it will provide fresh air as well as the polluted air and dust extraction from thetransformer room and machine room,.
The tunnel is divided into three parts, one of them is designed to extract polluted air and dust, the other is to provide fresh air, and the third is to access the vertical tunnel and its exit.
The air supply tunnel will be connected to the vertical air supply tunnel, tunneling work is currently underway to build a facility with a diameter of12.1 meters.
Another object, the progress of which the Head of State got acquainted with, is theturbine tunnel of unit No. 1.
The water-receiving vertical tunnel of unit No. 1 starts from the level of 1172 meters and decreases to the level of 956 meters. In general, its height is 216 meters. The diameter of the object on which the tunneling work is being carriedout started from 8.7 meters, and its final diameter will be 7 meters and will be completely covered with iron.
It was reported that tunneling work on a tunnel with a diameter of 2.5 meters hasbeen completed so far.
At the control site No. 5A, the Leader of the Nation inspected the already constructed and ongoing sites such as 500 kV and 220 kV switchgear, the territory of the station dam and other sites.
The last site the Leader of the Nation got acquainted with during the trip was theCT-3 construction tunnel.
The third level (CT-3) construction tunnel was built in accordance with the projectin order to pass water from the level of 1035 meters to 1145 meters.
The total length of the tunnel is 1858 meters. The water-carrying capacity of thetunnel is 3500 cubic meters per second. Construction tunnel CT-3 has several auxiliary tunnels.
The exit of the construction tunnel CT-3 is located at an altitude of 946-973 meters a.s.l, with a height of 26 meters, and the entrance length of 100 meters.
It should be noted that the third spillway tunnel is one of the most important facilities in the direction of ensuring the safety of the station during theperiod of possible floods. It has repair segment, emergency and main locks, built in the amount of 2.8 billion somoni.
This is the first tunnel built as part of the construction of the station during theperiod of independence.
The Head of State, Honored Emomali Rahmon, after getting acquainted with the progress of work at individual construction sites, highly appreciated the quality of the work performed and admonished the workers for the timely and effective implementation of Rogun HPP constructive measures.
Then the President of the country, Honored Emomali Rahmon officially commenced the second unit of the Rogun HPP in the unit hall.
Thus, on September 9, 2019, another important fateful event took place in the history of the statehood of independent Tajikistan, and a firm step was taken toward sachieving full energy independence.
Work stations, activists and intellectuals from all over the country, youth and labor veterans attended the Rogun HPP unit commissioning ceremony.
After the commissioning of the second unit of the station, the electricity generated by it is also sent to the general energy system.
On October 29, 2016, with the direct participation of the Leader of the Nation, Honored Emomali Rahmon, the construction of the Rogun HPP dam was initiated. On that day, the President of the country, Honored Emomali Rahmon, sitting at the bulldozer wheel and pushing huge boulders and stones for an hour and a half, blocked the bed of the Vakhsh River and launched the construction of HPP dam.
On November 16, 2018, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honored Emomali Rahmon, officially launched the first unit of the Rogun HPP and launched the activity of this great object, which will contribute to the all-round development of our state.
On that day, the Leader of the Nation, Honored Emomali Rahmon, at the constructionsite of the Rogun HPP commissioned an important plant facility - 500 kV high-voltage power line "Dushanbe-Rogun" and the Rogun HPP GIS Centerwith SF6 insulation with nineteen units of 500 kV SF6 devices and four 220 kV units.
The commissioning of Rogun HPP first unit took place not long ago, but up to day,570 million kilowatt / hours of electricity have been already produced and transferred to the country's energy system.
The Rogun HPP is the most powerful facility on the Vakhsh River cascade and consists of 6 units with a capacity of 600 MW each. Rogun HPP with a capacity of 3,600 MW (over 17 billion kilowatt hours), will be the largest hydroelectric power plant in the region. This figure one and a half times exceeds the production capacity of Nurek HPP.
Every construction site visit of the Head of State strengthened the spirit of the builders of this Temple of Light, and it was obvious that the instructions and farewell speech of the President of the country, Honored Emomali Rahmon, on the quality and timely delivery of the facility are a source of inspiration and a performance measure for them.
In response to the constructive calls of the Leader of the Nation, Honored Emomali Rahmon, more than 25,000 workers, engineers and other technical workers made their worthy contribution to the construction of the station. The labor feat of the construction workers, who are determined to activate the rest of the units, continues.
The energy sector development plays a key role in the sustainable development of the economy of Tajikistan, especially for the implementation of the fourth national goal - the accelerated industrialization of the country.
After the full commissioning of the station, it will be possible to open dozens of large and small industrial enterprises and thousands of new work places.
Energy independence is one of the strategic goals for the Government of the country, and to achieve it, it mobilizes all resources and opportunities.
During the period of independence of Tajikistan, the energy infrastructure changed radically, and with the implementation of a number of investment projects, it became possible to create the country National Grid and establish the provision of the economic spheres of the national economy and the population entirely at the expense of domestic manufacturers.
.The President of the country, Honored Emomali Rahmon, once again sincerely congratulated all the glorious people of an independent Tajikistan on the commissioning of the second unit of this temple of light/vital object.
