TGEM Completes Construction of a Solar Power Plant in GBAO

At the end of September, a 3 MW solar power plant located in the village of Rozh, Shughnon District, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, was officially commissioned. The facility was put into operation remotely by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.

The power plant was constructed by TGEM as part of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea. Construction began in June 2025 and was completed within one year.

Key Project Specifications

The solar power plant is located at an altitude of 2,600 metres above sea level and covers an area of 4 hectares. The facility includes 4,752 bifacial photovoltaic panels, 10 string inverters, a 0.8/35 kV compact transformer substation with an integrated step-up substation, and a 500 kWh energy storage system.

The plant is equipped with a remote monitoring and control system, allowing the equipment to be supervised without the need for the permanent presence of operating personnel.

Contribution to the Region’s Energy Development

The commissioning of the solar power plant marks an important stage in the development of renewable energy in GBAO. The project is aimed at improving the reliability of the region’s electricity supply and expanding the use of environmentally clean energy sources.

TGEM continues to contribute to the development of the energy infrastructure of the Republic of Tajikistan by implementing projects based on modern engineering solutions and advanced technologies.
