Opening of the National Theatre of Tajikistan

On 24 August, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, officially inaugurated the National Theatre of Tajikistan.

The new National Theatre, built in the heart of Dushanbe, has become one of the country’s largest and most significant cultural facilities. Its opening ahead of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan marks an important milestone in the cultural life of the country.

TGEM served as the main contractor for the construction of the National Theatre of Tajikistan. The implementation of a project of this scale required comprehensive coordination of construction processes, modern engineering solutions and the high level of professionalism of specialists involved at various stages of the project.

The National Theatre consists of seven floors — two underground and five above ground — and reaches a height of 35 metres. The theatre features three main halls, the largest of which accommodates 2,500 spectators. The complex also includes rehearsal and creative spaces, audio and video recording studios, workshops, a museum, conference halls and other essential facilities.

The architecture of the National Theatre combines contemporary solutions with traditional elements of Tajik national art. Particular attention was given to the interior and exterior design, technical equipment, stage infrastructure and modern engineering systems.

During his tour of the new facility, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan highly appreciated the quality of the completed construction works and expressed gratitude to the builders, engineers, specialists and craftsmen who contributed to the implementation of the project.

For TGEM, the completion of the National Theatre of Tajikistan represents an important milestone and another major project delivered as part of the country’s ongoing development and construction initiatives.

The new National Theatre is set to become one of Tajikistan’s leading cultural venues, providing a modern platform for theatrical performances, opera, ballet, symphonic concerts, and major national and international events.
